Repagulum

Classification: ntax_mesozoic -> Heterococcoliths inc sedis -> placoliths inc sedis -> Repagulum
Sister taxa: Ellipsolithus, Haqius, Markalius, Prolatipatella, Repagulum

Distinguishing features:
Parent taxon (placoliths inc sedis):
This taxon: Placoliths with monocyclic distal shield with numerous, narrow elements and central-area spanned by ~20 radial bars. In LM the coccoliths are distinctive but inconspicuous with low birefringence, "flaring" image.

Daughter taxa (time control age-window is: 0-800Ma)
Repagulum parvidentatum
Small, elliptical placoliths with monocyclic distal shield with numerous, narrow elements and central-area spanned by ~20 radial bars. In LM the coccoliths are distinctive but inconspicuous with low birefringence, "flaring" image.
Repagulum sp.
