Sister taxa: Dicrateria, Isochrysis, Ruttnera, Tisochrysis

Ruttnera lamellosa

Citation: Ruttnera Geitler 1942
Rank: Genus
Type species: Ruttnera spectabilis Geitler 1942
Taxonomic discussion: This is the genus traditionally known as Chrysotila, but Andersen et al. 2014 reassigned that name to the genus previously known as Pleurochrysis and revived the name Ruttnera for this form. The genus was first described by Geitler 1942 then described again in Geitler 1943, the former description has priority but the latter contains additional information.
