Taxonomy:
Citation: Chrysochromulina leadbeateri Estep et al. 1984
Taxonomic rank: species
Basionym: Chrysochromulina leadbeateri Estep et al. 1984
Synonyms:

Original description: Chloroplast containing cells, 1.5-4.0 um in diameter when dried, possibly up to twice as large when living, with two slightly subequal flagella, ca. 11 um and 13 um long Haptonema longer than flagella and in 8 to 18 coils in dried specimens. Body scales of two types, both of which are 0.2-0.4 um in diameter, with a cruciform central pattern surrounded by a 0.03 um diameter central ring One scale type circular with an additional raised ring near the periphery and a radial pattern of 25-30 lines on one face and a similar pattern without the raised ring on the other. The other scale type with a slightly raised angular rim, probably cup shaped, with little or no pattern other than the circuform center and central ring.
