Original description: Cellulae dorsiventrales, breviter doliiformes, ad finem posteriorem vix angustatae, 3.6-4.8 Х 4.8-6 Х 2.3 µ. Flagella duo, cellula duplo vel plus longiora. Haptonema anterius, ad 70 µ longum. Chromatophori duo, parietales, cupuliformes, indivisi, luteo-brunnei. Nucleus magnus, sphaericus, saepius anterior. (Fig. 2).
Translation Dorsiventral cells, shortly doliiform, narrowed to the posterior end, 3.6-4.8 X 4.8-6 X 2.3 µ. Two flagella, twice or more as long as the cell. Haptonema anterior, to 70 µ long. Chromatophores two, parietal, cup-shaped, undivided, yellow-brown. Nucleus large, spherical, often anterior. (Fig. 2).
