Why Gephyrocapsa ericsonii crassipons type not naming as Gephyrocapsa ericsonii var. crassipons or Gephyrocapsa ericsonii subsp. crassipons or Gephyrocapsa cf. ericsonii as you have treated it as variety, and there is Hayella situliformis var. ovata, Zygrhablithus bijugatus subsp. bijugatus.

Is type the same meaning as cf. &var. &subsp. in the species name?

Hi Zheng Wei

That is a good question. The difference between var. (or subsp.) and type is that varieties and subspecies are formal Linnean taxonomic categories that have been validly published. Type by contrast is an informal term and an attempt to record variability which is uncertain in origin.
