Other nannoliths with tangential c-axes

Classification: ntax_mesozoic -> Braarudosphaerales -> Other nannoliths with tangential c-axes
Sister taxa: Braarudosphaeraceae, Transitional genera, Nannoconaceae ⟩⟨ Polycyclolithaceae, Other nannoliths with tangential c-axes

Distinguishing features:
Parent taxon (Braarudosphaerales): Nannoliths formed of multiple layers of thin elements, arranged with rotational symmetry, and showing tangential c-axis orientations.
This taxon: Genera incertae sedis with radial structure and tangential c-axis orientation

Daughter taxa (time control age-window is: 0-800Ma)Granddaughter taxa
Kokia
Stellate, multiradiate, rosette-shaped nannoliths constructed from >6 single crystal-unit radial rays that show grey to white birefringence under XPL.
Kokia borealis
Kokia curvata
Kokia kayae
Kokia stellata
Kokia sp.

Tegulalithus
Cylindrical nannoliths, typically with flanges at both ends and so cotton-reel-shaped in side view.
Tegulalithus septentrionalis
Tegulalithus tessellatus
Tegulalithus sp.

Taxonomy:

Citation: Other nannoliths with tangential c-axes
taxonomic rank: Family
Taxonomic discussion: This is an informal grouping. The tangetial c-axis orientation suggests these genera belong to one or other of the families included here in the Braarudosphaerales.  Acadialithus, Rucinolithus and Hayesites are three oher gnera that are currently placed in the more geberal Nannoliths incertae sedis category that might belong here.  [my interpretation - JRY 2019]
