Distinguishing features:
Parent taxon (Retecapsa): Cretarhabdids with central area spanned by an axial cross with lateral bars.
This taxon: Cretarhabdids with axial cross & numerous narrow lateral bars per quadrant. Distal shield flat or sloping into central area.

Morphology:

Cretarhabdids with distal shields that slope in to the central-area, which is spanned by an axial cross with numerous lateral bars (7-8 in each quadrant). The reverse slope of the distal shield is very distinctive in SEM.
