Original Description

Globigerinacea and Eoglobigerinidae in which the walls of the trochospirally coiled, tests are thin, sparsely perforate, but without pore-pits and inter-pore ridges. The primary aperture is essentially interiomarginal, intraumbilical in position but may extend slightly asymmetrically towards the anterior side of the last chamber. The primary aperture may be reduced in size, or even lost during ontogeny, but when present usually bears a portical structure. Supplementary sutural aperture-like openings and bullae may be variably developed. No true muricae present but the wall surface bears pustule-like "spines" which may be axially perforate. The genus is confined to the Palaeocene.
