Original Description

Test trochospiral, dorsal side quite convex. Peripheral margin undulately curved. Spire consists of 2 whorls, the last of which contains 5-6 spheroidal chambers. Proloculus, the smallest chamber, stands out clearly on the dorsal side. Chambers very strongly increase in size as added. Umbilical depression attains a considerable size. Sutures simple, strongly depressed. Aperture a semicircular slit, opens into the umbilicus. Wall calcareous.

Наши формы очень близки к Globigerina bulloides d’Orb., но отличаются от них меньшей величиной, выпуклостью со спин­ ной стороны и неравномерным ростом камеры.

The original name is Globigerina aptica [the genus Hedbergella was published in 1958]
