Extra details from original publication
This species differs from G. rubra d'Orbigny (in De la Sagra, Hist. Ph Nat. Cuba, 1839, Foraminiferes, p. 94, pl. 4, figs. 12-14), by its much more compact method of coiling, its less globular chambers, its more regularly formed trochoid coil and its small, circular aperture. Figure 9 shows a specimen from the middle bed in which the secondary apertures are obscure.
