Globigerina dubia lakiensis

Original Description

Test coiled in a low spire, somewhat plano-convex; periphery broadly rounded, lobulate. Dorsal side nearly flat or slightly arched, evolute, showing nearly two and one-fourth coils. Ventral side very high, convex, deeply umbilicate, completely involute, showing four and one-half chambers. Chambers globular, increasing rapidly in height but very gradually in width with the growth. Sutures distinct, depressed. Wall cancellated, rather coarsely perforate, radial, hyaline. Aperture an arched slit on the ventral side, at the base of the last chamber opening inot the umbilicus with an upper lip.

Size:
Length of the holotype 0.4 mm.; breadth 0.3 mm.; thickness 0.3 mm.

Differences - This variety differs from the typical form in the more compressed dorsal side, lesser number of coils, and somewhat less globular chambers.
