This species differs from Globigerina bulloides d'Orbigny in having a much smaller and restricted aperture, a smaller umbilicus, less deeply incised sutures and an elongate equatorial profile. Globigerina parabulloides is considered to be descended from Globigerina praebulloides but appears earlier than Globigerina bulloides. Transitional forms from Globigerina praebulloides to Globigerina parabulloides occur in the Globorotalia mayeri/Glohorotalia lenguaensis Subzone.
Occurrence: Ranges from the Globorotalia mayeri/Globorotalia lenguaensis Subzone to the Globigerina bulloides Zone, Pozon formation.
