Original Description

Test small, trochoid, roughly trapezoidal in side view, last convolution made up of five chambers rather rapidly increasing in size as added; chambers inflated, subspherical; walls roughened; sutures depressed; aperture an elongate slit with overhanging lip almost covering the umbilicus.

Size:
Length 0. 24. mm.; breadth 0.22mm.; thickness 0.14. mm.

Extra details from original publication
At first this species was thought to be the young stage of some larger form. However, after long study of numerous specimens, it was found to be a distinct species. It is easily distinguished from G. bulloides d 'Orbigny by its trapezoidal side view
