Original Description

Large, fairly robust; barely elevated dextral trochospire, tight parallel to axis, increasingly loose perpendicular to axis. Equatorial outline moderately lobate; lateral outline not quite symmetrical. Chambers spherical, slightly appressed, at least 11 (15?) in total, 4 in final whorl. Dorsal view: chambers circular, moderately inflated; sutures moderately incised; intercameral sutures radial. Ventral view: chambers very inflated; sutures radial; umbilicus very wide. Lateral view: smoothly rounded; aperture an umbilical--extraumbilical arch of consistent moderate height. Wall densely perforate and pustulose, smooth between.

Size:
Length, 535 µm; width, 435 µm; height, 310 µm.

Etymology:
Latin, evolvo, -utus, unroll, unfold.

Editors' Notes
  1. Fordham 1986 included both Globigerinella evoluta n. sp and Globigerinella evoluta evoluta n. subsp. but there was no separate description or type designation for the species.
  2. Globigerinella evoluta Subbotina 1960 is a senior homonym and a different species
