Extra details from original publication
Many specimens of this species do not have definite supplementary apertures. When they are absent it has the appearance of a Guembelitria. However, the consistent association of this species with the Globigerinidae suggest that it is pelagic . This fact, together with the occurrence of supplementary apertures, indicates that this species should be placed in the genus Globigerinoides.
