Also occurs in strata of Miocene age on Okinawa.Type age (chronostrat): Holotype (fig. 3) and paratype (fig. 6) from the MioceneType locality: Holotype (fig. 3) and paratype (fig. 6) from locality S621, northeast-central Saipan, Mariana Islands. Found also on Okinawa.Type repository: Washington; USNM
Original Description Test large, high-spired. Chambers numerous, higher than broad, inflated; 3 or 4 (exceptionally as many as 6) constituting the final whorl. Sutures indented. Wall thin, calcareous, perforate, finely spinose. Apertures several, the main one a large semicircular opening occupying most of the umbilical edge of the lastformed chamber; supplementary apertures small, at the junctions of the ve rtical sutures with the spiral suture, not observed in the early part of the spire. Size: Height 1.00-1.40 mm.; diameter 0.85-1.00 mm. Extra details from original publication This species is distinctive in its very high, sharp spire, and high, narrow chambers. It resembles Globigerina subcretacea Lomnicki in number of chambers in the final whorl but differs in its high spire and dorsal supplementary apertures.
