Original Description This varietal form comprises the greater part of most assemblages from the Telisa shales. It is either an early or immature form of the type described by Brady from 'a white friable limestone from New Britain' (Geol. Mag., Dec. II, Vol. IV, p. 535, 1877). Brady notes that Globigerinoides sacculiferus is characterized by 'its large out-spread test, of which the terminal chamber or chambers are pouch-shapedor pointed.' The Sumatran form does not exhibit this feature. However , the type form is found in the late Tertiary Marls of East Borneo and East Java and is usually associated with forms identical to the Sumatran variety. The development of the last irregular, fistulose chamber probably results from environmental condit ions or is a stage of higher development. Size: Height 0.43 mm. Extra details from original publication "he best development of this variet =al form is reached within the Telisa. It has also been found in appreciable numbers in the 'Pliocene' of West Java and in dredgings from off the West Java coast at depths not exceeding 30 meters.
