Original Description Test free, low trochospiral, biconvex, strongly convex on the umbilical side, nearly flat to slightly convex on the spiral side; equatorial profile slightly lobulate, broadly subrhomboidal to subquadrate in equatorial profile; axial periphery broadly rounded, occasionally bluntly rounded; wall calcareous, thick, with coarse pustules around the umbilical region; chambers gradually increasing in size in earlier whorls but rapidly in the last whorl; about 11 to 12 chambers in all arranged in two and one-half whorls, usually four in the final whorl; sutures on the spiral side, slightly depressed, nearly radial to slightly curved; sutures on the umbilical side radial, deeply depressed, almost incised near the umbilicus; aperture interiomarginal, umbilical-extraumbilical, low-arched opening with no apparent lip, but in some cases with rimlike thickening. Size: Holotype (plate 2, figures 7a-7c). 0.40 mm.; paratype (plate 2, figures 5a-5b) . 0.33 mm.; another paratype (plate 2, figures 6a-6b). 0.33 mm. Extra details from original publication Remarks: In general appearance, this species resembles Globorotalia orientalis Maiya. Saito, and Sato, n, sp ., but is distinguished by its more highly arched and elongate aperture with only a narrow rimlike lip, lt also differs from Globorotalia inflata (d'Orbigny), sensu stricto, in having a distinct and rather wide apertural face, less convex spiral side, and a much smaller, less highly arched aperture.
Occurrences: In the northwestern Pacific, this species occurs abundantly in the interval from the Gauss series to the middle part of the Matuyama series in cores V20-119. RC1 0-161, and RC1 0-164.
