Remarks: Globorotalia lenguaensis, new species, re sembles O. canariensis var. minima Akers but differs in its less convex umbihcal side and more circular equa- torial periphery. G. canariensis var. minima has been described from the Cibicides carstensi var. opimus zone (Globorotalia fohsi barisanensis zone to Globorotalia fohsi fohsi zone of the Cipero formation) , whereas Globorotalia lenguaensis is restricted to the Lengua formation. The new species differe from G. menardii d'Orbigny) in its smaller size, less lobate and more circular equatorial periphery.
