Original Description

[Translation from the Russian.- Test large, conical due to the flattened dorsal and highly convex ventral sides. Two whorls. Four or five chambers in the final whorl. Final chamber very large in comparison with the preceding one, constituting over one-third of the whole test. Peripheral margin sharp, lobate, with a distinct keel in the form of a slightly thickened edge. Chambers increase greatly in size as added. Umbilical ends of chambers closely adjacent to one another, slightly tapered and rounded. On the dorsal side the chambers are crecent-shaped or semicircular, and on the ventral they aree triangular. Sutures short on the dorsal side, slightly curved; long, straight or sigmoidal, depressed on the ventral side. Aperture slitlike and simple, extending from the umbilical end of the final chamber along almost the entire marginal suture. Wall strongly rugose, densely covered with a very short, thick spines which make the test look granular. Diameter 0.40-0.55 mm; thickness 0.25-0.30 mm. This species as all conical Globorotalias, shows a great variability of features, including the dimensions.
