Original Description Test planoconvex, flat dorsally, strongly convex ventrally; wall calcareous, completely covered with numerous small papillae, giving a granular appearance; papillae tending to become heavier along periphery and at edges of each chamber; periphery angled, may be lobulate or relatively smooth; complete whorl visible dorsally, early chambers indistinct; only last whorl of about six chambers visible ventrally, somewhat inflated, castellated near the umbilicus; chambers increasing rapidly in size as added; dorsal sutures nearly straight, tangential, raised or flush; ventral sutures straight, slightly depressed, radiating from small umbilical opening; aperture a wide, labiate, crescentic slit at the center of base of apertural face of the last chamber. Size: Maximum diameter 0.38 mm.; minimum diameter 0.34 mm.; breadth 0.2 mm. Etymology: Named in honor of Arthur W. Nauss. Extra details from original publication Remarks.-This species is similar to Globorotalia aragonensis Nuttall (1930) in general shape and ornamentation but differs in having fewer chambers and in lacking the thickened keel and limbate sutures.
