It differs from G. opima continuosa Blow in that its chambers increase more rapidly in size, are more compressed and not so subglobular, and in that the aperture is a higher arch, extending further up into the apertural face.
Stratigraphic range: From at least as low as near the base of the Otaian-Hutchinsonian up to the lower two-thirds of the Awamoan Stage.
