Original Description

Moderately small, robust; low dextral trochospire, tight parallel and perpendicular to axis. Equatorial outline oval, weakly lobate; lateral outline weakly compressed. Chambers ovate, closely appressed, about 13 in total, 4 in final whorl; increase slow but regular. Dorsal view: chambers slightly longer concentrically, barely inflated; sutures barely depressed; intercameral sutures directed slightly posteriorly, then curved posteriorly. Ventral view: chambers weakly inflated; intercameral sutures radial, meeting at tight umbilicus; aperture umbilical--extraumbilical, very low, with a very thin lip. Lateral view: smoothly rounded. Wall weakly but coarsely cancellate.

Size:
Length, 150 µm; width, US µm; height, 90 µm.

Etymology:
Latin, lateralis, of the side; apertura (f.), opening, hole; -us, adjectival termination.
