Original Description

Test biconvex to planoconvex, dorsal side flat or slightly convex; ventral side protruding: periphery slightly lobate, angled, with single beaded keel in adult forms, traces of a second keel in the early chambers of juvenile forms. Test consisting of three and a half to four whorls; 3.5-4.5 narrow, elongated, crescentic rectangular chambers with slightly crenulated surface visible on the dorsal side, ventrally chambers, 3-4, subrectangular in shape, increasing very rapidly in size and height and strongly overlapping; sutures raised dorsally, curved, raised ventrally, strongly curved; umbilicus varies in size from small to relatively large, deep, open, bordered by umbilical ridges and covered by umbilical cover plate (tegillum) which is not preserved. Aperture interiomarginal-umbilical in position. Wall calcareous, perforate except for the imperforate keels.
