Type locality: At the base of the sea cliffs about 75 yards west of the mouth of Wadi al Qalah and about 40 yards west of a small spring which supplies water for the village of Ras al Hilal, Marsa al Hilal area, northern Cyrenaica, Libyca.

Original Description

"Test a very low trochospiral with the spiral side gently concave and the umbilical side strongly convex; evolute, umbilicate, consisting of 3-3.5 whorls; equatorial periphery generally circular, weakly to strongly lobulate, having 2 well-developed, closely spaced, finely beaded keels which merge into a fine, unbeaded single keel on final 1-3 chambers. Chambers hemispherical, 5-6 in final whorl rapidly increasing in size. Sutures raised, curved on spiral side; radial, depressed on umbilical side. Umbilicus broad, moderately deep. Primary aperture umbilical and slightly extraumbilical; umbilical cover plate and accessory apertures not observed. Surface hispid, becoming smooth on final chambers of spiral side, coarsely hispid on umbilical side. Coiling predominantly dextral. Average maximum diameter 0.64 mm."
