Original Description

Test biconvex, somewhat compressed, trochoid; nearly circular to oval in outline. Periphery lobulate with a single keel. In some specimens the early chambers of the last whorl show double keels very close together, later ones become single-keeled. Dorsal side almost equally convex with the ventral, evolute, showing 15-16 chambers. Ventral side completely involute with a large umbilicus. Chambers distinct, about 5 in the outer whorl, overlapping, at least the earlier ones; each chamber on the ventral side with the edges raised and beaded; on the dorsal side each chamber is strongly depressed in the middle giving a fluting effect. Sutures distinct, beaded, raised, strongly curved on the dorsal side; radial and depressed on the ventral. Wall calcareous, perforate, hyaline. Aperture interiomarginal, umbilical. Other apertural characters not preserved in the specimens examined.
