Original Description

Test low trochospiral, planoconvex, dorsal side flat, ventral side convex, periphery lobate with two widely spaced spinose or beaded keels on the periphery. Chambers on the dorsal side arranged in two and a half to three whorls; the initial chambers of globigerine form, increasing rapidly in size; chambers of the last whorl 5-6, slightly inflated, petaloid, spirally separated by curved, raised and beaded sutures; chambers ventrally inflated, highly convex, rectangular, separated by slightly curved, depressed, beaded sutures. Umbilicus, wide, deep, bordered by beaded, umbilical ridges and covered by a complex tegilla which is not usually preserved. Primary aperture interiomarginal-umbilical in position. Wall calcareous, hyaline, perforated except for ornamentation, keels and peripheral band. Surface coarsely spinose, rugose and hispid on both sides of the test.
