Type locality: A section near Km. 92 on the Fonseca-Riohacha road, Rancheria Valley, 40 km. north of Fonseca, NE part of the State of Magdalena, northern Colombia.

Original Description

Test flat on the dorsal side with slightly inflatedchambers (generally six in the last whorl) convex on the ventralside with chambers strongly inflated and round, two finely raisedkeels close to the dorsal side and to each other, chambers short, petaloid; sutures, deep depressed, and radial on the ventral sidewith sutural elevations occasionally present m the last chambers. Test rough with spines, papillae, rugose ridges on the ventral side,developed arched lips (rosetta type) covering the umbilical aper-tures.

Size:
Dimensions of holotype: Width 0.78 x 0.89 mm.; thickness, 0.32 mm.

Etymology:
The species was named after the late Dr. C. Wiedenmayer, Chief Geologist of Societa Petrolifera Italiana (Standard Oil Company of New Jersey).

Remarks.—In general the form is similar to Glt. gansseri gansseri Bolli with the same rough test and ornamentation of early chambers. The only marked difference is the double keel and generally greater number of chambers in the last whorl.
