Original Description

Test planispiral, billateraly symmetrical; periphery lobate; chambers inflated, almost spherical in shape, five in the last coil, each provided with an elongate, hollow spine, located on the periphery near the contact with the next younger chamber, the last chamber being about twice the size of the preceding one and located so that it incloses part of the spine of that chamber; wall smooth, calcareous, finely perforate; aperture an elliptical opening located at the contact of the last chamber with the preceding coil, provided with irregularly spaced, short teeth, the aperture so large that part of the preceding coil with the enclosed spine of previous chamber can be seen through it; the aperture of the next to the last chamber also remains open at the umbilicus.

Size:
Diameter of the last chamber 0.6 mm.

This species is similar in shape to Hantkenina inflata Howe, but differs from it in the character of the aperture.
