[SCOR WG138] Gr. (Gr.) plesiotumida is distinguished from Gr. (Gr.) tumida tumida by its smaller size and less tumid test. The evolutionary appearance of Gr. (Gr.) plesiotumida defines the base of Zone N17. This taxon, in turn, evolved into Gr. (Gr.) tumida tumida near the Zone N17-N18 boundary by developing a larger and more tumid test.
