Taxonomy
Original description: Test biserial in the earlier pseudotextulariid stage becoming multiserial when adult. Multiserial part of the test consists of maximum six sets of chamberlets. Chambers increasing rapidly in size as added in the earlier part of the test, the adult part presenting quasi-parallel sides in dorso-ventral view. Sutures distinct, depressed, somehow obscured in the juvenile part due to the addition of calcitic material. Test wall calcitic, macroperforate. Chamber surface ornamented with thicker and discontinuous costae, more or less parallel to the periphery. Test ornamentation distinctly coarser in the earlier part of the test. Periphery broadly to moderately rounded without peripheral structures. Multiple apertures in the adult stage, bordered by thin flanges.
Entries in the Catalog of original descriptions: Guembelina acervulinoides
