"Remarks. - In spite of the imperfect planispiral arrangement of the chambers in the last whorl of the test of this described type and the umbilical-extraumbilical, but non-equatorial position of its aperture, yet it is more related to the genus Hastigerina Thomson rather than to GloborotaLoides Bolli. The latter genus does not show any tendency of planispirality. This described new type is regarded as a primitive species of Hastigerina which had not attained the stage of the perfect planispiral arrangement of its chambers and the equatorial position of the aperture. These characters distinguish Hastigerina primitiva El-Shinnawi from the other known allied species."
