Diagnose. Eine neue Art der Gattung Sphaeroidinellopsis mit folgenden Besonderheiten: das Gehause ist annahernd oval und besitzt eine grobhockerige, glasig glanzende Oberflache.
Beschreibung. - Gehause nach trochospiral, mit drei gerundeten, sich stark umfassenden Kammern im letzten Umgang. Letzte Kammer etwa so gross wie die beiden vorhergehenden zusammen. Altere Umgange nicht sichtbar; ihr Vorhandensein dorsal nur durch eine von einer leicht eingeschnittenen Sutur begrenzte asymmetrische Flache angedeutet. Umriss des Gehauses sowohl in der Aufsicht als auch von der Seite gesehen breit oval. Nur die Sutur zwischen der Finalkammer und den beiden vorhergehenden deutlich eingesenkt. Diese Art unterscheidet sich von S. ovalis Dremel hauptsachlich durch ihre etwas gedrungene, rechteckig wirkende Gehiiuseform, ihre relativ starker gelappte Peripherie und die auf die Ventralseite beschrankte Mundung. Ubergangsformen zwischen beiden Arten sind im Material von Kephallinia nicht selten. Linksgewundene Formen sind haufiger als rechtsgewundene.
