Extra details from original publication
The present forms seem to be closer to Globigerina digitata Brady, 1879, from Ki Islands off Tahiti Brady (1884) than to any other taxon. Cushman, Todd, and Post (1954) illustrated two forms with somewhat different chambers as Hastigerinella digitata (Rhumbler 1911). Genus Beella Banner and Blow, 1960, type species Globigerina digitata Brady, 1879, as illustrated by Loeblich and Tappan (1964 p C669-670, fig. 537/1) hypotype Atlantic Ocean, does not appear to be the same species. The initial unit of chambers here is not close to typical globigerine organization of chambers but the initial chambers of their Atlantic form seem to be more so. With more study the differences become more important.
