Original Description

Test large, medium high trochospire, formed by about three whorls; peripheral margin irregular, strongly lobate; four to five chambers in the last whorl, increasing gradually in size as added; last chamber generally smaller than the penultimate chamber; earlier chambers petalloid; final chambers crescent-shaped on the spiral side, subtrapezoidal on umbilical side; spherical in apertural view; primary aperture extraumbilical; umbilical area small.

Etymology:
This species is named after A. M. Voloshina in honor of her contributions to the study of Albian foraminifera.

Variation of the species. The more significant variation displayed by Favusella voloshinae is the number of chambers in the last whorl. The majority of the specimens observed (about 80) show five chambers in the last whorl. The last chamber always is smaller and possesses the characteristic ornamenta- tion.

Remarks. Favusella voloshinae n. sp. differs from F. washitensis by its smaller number of chambers in the last whorl and by the narrower umbilical area.

Range. Favusella voloshinae seems to be restricted to the Ticinella breggiensis Zone (upper Albian)
