Original Description Test free, calcareous, lenticular, planoconvex, trochoid, compressed periphery broadly rounded, lobulate evolute involute; wall rather thick, punctate, opaque comparitively smooth; about three whorls of globose to elon gate globose chambers rap idly increasing in size, five in last formed whorl; low spired; sutures depressed, radiate; aperture large umbilical to extraumbilical with a narrow lip and ta pering fibrous attachments. Size: Holotype (fig. 6) 0.54 x 0.52 x 0.39mm. Extra details from original publication This species differs from Globigerina bulloides D’Orbigny, 1826, in being planoconvex and five subglobose not four globose chambers in the last formed whorl. Numerous specimens were found in one sample in James Bay. Apertures and texture also aid in separation of these two taxa. Thus far no satisfactory explanation of such a limited distribution for a pelagic form has been found.”
