Remarks. The new subspecies differs from Globorotalia puncticulata in having much less depressed sutures, flatter dorsal side, less globular chambers and only three and half chambers in the final whorl. The last chamber of Globorotalia puncticulara tends to cover the aperture which does not occur in the new subspecies. Dimensions of Globorotalia pucticulata padana are smaller than those of the type subspecies. It differs from Globorotalia bononiensis in having smaller aperture, less lobate chambers and flatter dorsal side. Globorotalia crassaformis differs from our new subspecies in having more acute periphery, wider umbilical area and more depressed sutures. The new subspecies differs from Globorotalia inflata in having less globular test and less lobate chambers. Furthermore, Globotoralia inflata is highly convexed on dorsal side while the new subspecies is rather flat.
