Extra details from original publication
Heterohelix pulchra (Brotzenj. MELLO.1971. p. 35. pl. 5, fig. 10 .
Remarks. This species differs from Heterohelix pulchra in possessing less reniform chambers and possessing obvious costae. It is most similar to Heterohelix reussi (Cushman) but possesses slightly more inflated and rounded chambers and better developed costae.
Occurrence. This species was found in the present study from 419 to approximately 631 meters above the base of the Pierre Shale at Red Bird, Wyoming. Mello (1971) reported this species as H. pulchra (Brotzen) from 499 meters above the base of the Pierre Shale. This species is also present in the lower transition member of the Pierre Shale at Canon City, Colorado, from 230 to 390 meters above the base of the Pierre Shale at Burris Draw and McAllaster Buttes, western Kansas, and from 53 to approximately 600 meters above the base of the Pierre Shale at Boulder, Colorado.
