Type locality: La pleine mer, à une grande distance des côtes du Pérou, dans l' océan Pacifique, par 20° de latitude sud et 89° de longitude ou est de Paris. Très rare.

Original Description

N. testa orbiculato-globulosa, tuberosa, rugosa, aculeata, flava, convexa, inflata, margine profunde secto; loculis quinis triangularibus, convexis, ultimo supra convexissimo-rotundato; suturis profunde excavatis; umbilico depresso.

Coquille: Suborbiculaire, très renflée, globuleuse, très-fragile, très-rugueuse, e t de plus couve rte de pointes irrégulières plus ou moins espacées, arrondie et convexe sur les bords, qui sont profondément découpés. Loges au nombre de cinq, très-larges, très-convexes, triangulaires et peu droites, leurs sutures très-profondément excavées, la dernière loge convexe, bombée et arrondie en dessus; ombilic assez profond. Couleur: Jaunâtre assez foncé, uniforme.

Diamètre, 1/3 de millimètre.

Plus bombée encore que notre Nonionna umbilicata, celle-ci s'endistingue par le petit nombre de ses loges très-bombées, au lieu d' être planes et nombre uses. Elle se distingue encore de toutes les autres par sa contexture rugueuse et les pointes dont elle est couverte. ""
