This page provides data from the catalog of type descriptions. The catalog is sorted alphabetically. Use the current identification link to go back to the main database.
Size: Durchmesser 0.5 mm. Etymology: Extra details from original publication
Editors' Notes Sometimes cited as Hantken 1876. Arguably a senior synonym of H. liebusi but Coxall & Person 2006 argue that the holotype is too poorly illustrated for definitive identification (see main catalog entry for H. liebusi)

Siderolina kochi was transferred to Hantkenina by Cushman (1925). H. liebusi is a junior synonym of H. kochi not the contrary?
Siderolina is an invalid genus according to L&T (1987), and was first used by Defrance (1824).

Hi Francois
Coxall & Pearson 2006 argue essentially that although H. kochi as used by most authors is a synonym of H. liebusi, the name H. kochi should not be used since the type is lost and the type figure is ambiguous - this is quoted on the main database page entry for H. liebusi.
