Original Description

Test of medium size, low trochospire; peripheral margin elliptical, strongly lobate; generally five chambers in the last whorl, increasing gradually in size as added; chambers petalloid to crescent-shaped on both spiral and umbilical sides; ovoid in apertural view; sutures straight, depressed; primary aperture extraumbilical-spiroumbilical in position; umbilicus small, circular.

Etymology:
This species derives its name from its stratigraphic range, the Albian, since it seems to be restricted to the Albian.

Variation of the species. Ticinella albiana n. sp. is common in the material studied. More than 85 specimens were exam­ined. It is a distinctive species whose diagnostic features are constant. All the specimens observed show five chambers in the last whorl.

Remarks. Ticinella albiana n. sp. differs from T. caronae n. sp. in having five petalloid chambers in the last whorl in­stead of six to seven subtriangular chambers.  

Range. Upper Ticinella breggiensis Zone.
