Original description: "Test trochospiral, deeply umbilicate, biconvex with 5-7 chambers in last whorl. Chambers highle vaulted both spirally and umbilically; separated by curved, raised , often highly beaded sutures. Spiral chambers sometimes possessing a few imperforate discontinuous costellae which are deep-seated structurally, comprised of ultragranular hyaline calcite, and traverse entire outer wall. Well-developed double keel following periphery of test and tending to become narrower as coiling progresses, often forming a single keel on larger microspheric individuals. Primary aperture interiomarginal, umbilical in position. Umbilicus covered by a spiral system of tegilla showing infralaminal and intralaminal accessory apertures. Outer wall radial hyaline perforate except for double keels which are primarily radial hyaline imperforate, but possess secondary ultragranular components of double keel lacking in last one or two chambers of final whorl. Septal walls and tegilla microgranular hyaline, finely perforate."
