Original description: This variety has the dorsal side more convex than the ventral in most specimens but some which are more or less equally biconvex obviously link it to the typical form. It is somewhat similar to G. conica White, but has fewer whorls and chambers and the sutures on the dorsal side are more curved. Some specimens which have a conspicuously large last chamber are very similar to G. convexa Sandidge, but they lack the secondary keel.
