Globotruncanella pschadae

Classification: pf_mesozoic -> Globotruncanidae -> Globotruncanella -> Globotruncanella pschadae
Sister taxa: G. compressiformis, G. havanensis, G. minuta, G. petaloidea, G. pschadae, G. semsalensis, G. sp.

Taxonomy

Citation: Globotruncanella pschadae (Keller, 1946)
Taxonomic rank: species
Basionym: Globorotalia pschadae
Synonyms:
Taxonomic discussion: Robaszynski et al., 1984: "Usually, Globotruncanella pschadae (=Globotruncanella citae) was put in synonymy with Globtruncanella havanensis. Examination of the holotype of Globotruncanella havanensis has convinced us that there are enough criteria to separate the two species (pschadae has an angular periphery marked by a keel)."

Original description: "Test very large, trochoid, with 2.5-3 volutions and with 5 chambers in the final volution. Sutures clearly defined, deeply depressed on the ventral side, straight on the dorsal side, thickened and arched in the early stages. Keel distinctly expressed, slightly serrate. Wall finely roughened. Aperture begins in the wide umbilical region and extends along the base of the final chamber.

Entries in the Catalog of original descriptions: Globorotalia pshadae, Praeglobotruncana mattsoni, Globotruncanella piramidalis, Globotruncana citae
