Original description: DIAGNOSE : Cette espèce est morphologiquement très semblable à Globotruncana fornicata PLUMMER, mais elle s'en distingue par la position de l'ouverture primaire qui est ombilicale-extraombilicale et non franchement ombilicale.
DESCRIPTION : Test calcaire hyaline perforé bilamellaire et enroulement trochospiralé. Ouverture primaire ombilicale-extraombilicale. Forme biconvexe, la face dorsale étant généralement plus convexe que la face ventrale. Bandeau carénal périphérique étroit, comportant deux carènes divergentes, étroitement accolées sur la partie postérieure des loges. Le plan de chacune des loges est décalé par rapport celui de ses voisines, ce qui donne g l'ensemble du test une allure contournée caractéristique. Cette disposition se traduit surtout par un aspect sinueux du bandeau carénat et par une ondutation de la surface du test sur Ia face spirale. Les loges sont très fortement étirées dans le sens de l'enroulement et prennent une allure imbriquée, nettement soulignée sur la face ventrale par le parcours sigmoide des bourrelets suturaux et périombilicaux. L'ombilic, relativement large, est en partie masqué par les expansions lamelleuses ("tegilla") issues de la partie adombilicale de chacune des loges; ces expansions ménagent entre elles des ouvertures accessoires infra et intralaminales.
