Marginotruncana undulata

Taxonomy

Original description: Le test est trochospiral et inégalement biconvexe. Environ 20 loges forment les 3 tours de la spire. Elles sont d'abord sphériques (globigérinoiâes), plus tard leurs sutures deviennent semicirculaires et anguleuses vers le dernier tour. Les septes sont dirigées en arrière et par conséquent tombent obliquement sur le tour interne. Du côté spiral, la surface est fort ondulée et la périphérie lobée. Le côté latéral montre la carène, l'ouverture intériomarginale-ombilicale et la biconvexité du test. Sur la face septale de la dernière loge on remarque la bifurcation de la carène (quelques exemplaires ont une double carène restreinte aux premières loges du dernier tour). Du côté ombilical, les 6 à 8 loges du dernier tour sont visibles. Quelques-unes sont ornées de pustules. Elles sont du type linneiana et leur partie distale est pointue. La carène ventrale peut être large vers la parrie adombilicale de la loge. L'ombilic mesure à peu près le tiers du diamètre.
