Original description: Diagnose: Eine neue Art der Gattung Globigerina mit folgenden Besonder heiten: Gehäuse stark zusammengedrückt, fast scheibenförmig, Oberfläche mit zahlreichen kurzen Dornen befleckt.

Beschreibung: Gehäuse mittelgross, schwach bikonvex, auf beiden Seiten stark zusammengedrückt, fast scheibenförmig. Dorsalseite mit 2½-3 Umgängen, die inneren Umgänge schwach erhaben, der letzte Umgang stark abgeflacht. Ventralseite etwas stärker gewölbt als Dorsalseite. Peripherie stark gelappt, abgerundet. Kammern auf der Dorsalseite schwach gewölbt, rundlich, 6-7 im letzten Umgang; auf der Ventralseite stärker gewölbt, rundlich trapezoedrisch. Nähte auf der Dorsal seite gerade, radialgestellt, stark vertieft, ebenso auf der Ventralseite. Oberfläche der Kammern mit zahlreichen kurzen Dornen bedeckt; in der zweiten Hälfte des letzten Umgangs werden diese schwächer, die 2-3 letzten Kammern sintl fast glatt. Nabel massig weit, tief. Die Mündung ist nicht wahrzunehmen, da die letzte Kammer weggebrochen ist. 

Diagnosis: A new species of the genus Globigerina d'Orbigny with the following characteristics: Test distinctly compressed, nearly disk-shaped surface covered by numerous sharp spines.

Description: Test of medium size, nearly biconvex, distinctly compressed on both sides and nearly disk-shaped. Dorsal side with 2.5 to 3 whorls, inner one slightly raised, last volution strongly flattened. Ventral side somewhat more inflated than the dorsal one. Periphery strongly lobate, more or less rounded off. Chambers on dorsal side weakly arched more or less rounded, 6 or 7 in the last whorl, on ventral side more strongly arched, rounded-trapezoidal. Sutures of the dorsal side straight, radially disposed, distinctly depressed, as on the ventral side. Surface of chambers with numerous, short spines; in the second half of the last volution they are weakly developed, and the last two to three chambers are more or less smooth. Umbilicus is moderately wide, deep. The aperture is not recognizable because the last chamber is broken off. [translation from Chronos website]
