Taxonomy

Citation: Pseudoguembelina hariaensis Nederbragt 1991
taxonomic rank: Species
Basionym: Pseudoguembelina hariaensis
Taxonomic discussion: Distinguished by initially rapidly flaring test, later test with subparallel sides; finely costate test with compressed multiserial chamberlets. Nederbragt, 1991, p. 360: "While lacking accessory apertures, the above described form is included in Pseudogeumbelina because of its suspected phylogenetic relation with Psg. palpebra. Pseudoguembelina hariaensis most closely resembles Psg. palpebra specimens with terminal multiserial growth, in which accessory apertures are usually lacking also (pl. 9, figs. 11., 12). Pseudoguembelina hariaensis differs from such Psg. palpebra forms in having thinner costae, less inflated chambers and more sets of multiserial chamberlets." [copied from Chronos database]

Original description: Test biserial throughout or followed by one or two, rarely more, sets of small multiserial chamberlets. Biserial part of the test flaring throughout, or rapidly flaring in the juveniles, with sides of last few pairs of biserial chambers becoming subparallel. Biserial chambers subglobular, wider than high or deep, multiserial chamberlets globular. Periphery rounded, at most faintly lobate in the adult. Surface covered by thin, discontinuous costae, with rows of medium sized pores in between; sutures flush to slightly depressed, often imperforate. Apertures high and narrow arcs, bordered by small, but distinct flanges.
