Original description: Plate 6 shows that in the lower part of the sedimentary pile single-keeled globotruncanids are present, and this appears to be the most important in the evolution of their systematic standing are connected by intermediary forms with G. linnei. For this reason they cannot be combined with Globotruncana stuarti which appear distinctly much later. For this reason I place these oldest forms temporarily in the Globotruncana forms and describe them as Globotruncana appenninica.
