Taxonomy
Original description: Translated from French: Shell planoconvex, consisting of 6 to 7 chambers in the last whorl, separated by arched sutures pointing backward, the chambers on the ventral side are equally convex, separated by slightly curved sutures. Intrasutural apertures not clearly visible, mostly filled with foreign material; however, the aperture of the apertural side of the last chamber is often fairly visible. The species is characterized by rapidly increasing chambers. The sections made from loose specimens (fig. 12) show that the species is strongly related to Globotruncana apenninica Renz. The first whorls display the shape of this latter species.
Entries in the Catalog of original descriptions: Globotruncana (Rotalipora) micheli, Rotalipora appenninica marchigiana
